Certificate of Conformity

A certificate of conformity may be required to present products in domestic and international markets. Below, we explain why this document is needed and how to obtain it.

What is a certificate of conformity?

A product certificate of conformity is a legal document confirming that the product characteristics comply with the requirements of technical regulations and standards. The document is issued by an authorized certification body that is responsible for the accuracy of the stated information.

Depending on the company's field of activity, the certification procedure may be mandatory or voluntary.

A certificate of conformity may be issued either for a separate batch of goods or for serial production.

Methods of certifying serial products

  • Without production inspection: only the submitted documents are analyzed. The certificate is valid for 1 year.
  • With production inspection: the certificate is valid for 2 years.
  • With analysis of the implemented ISO management system: the certificate is valid for up to 3 years.

How to obtain a certificate of conformity?

To obtain a certificate, the manufacturer or importer applies to an authorized certification body with a full package of documents. Product samples are also provided if necessary.

  • the applicant's registration documents and taxpayer identification number;

  • documents confirming product quality (test reports, operating instructions, if available);
  • a test sample, if necessary.
